The Nervous System
The brain, which weighs about 3 pounds and contains 100 billion nerve cells, controls the body’s functions through the spinal cord, which extends from the brain to just below the waist. Thirty-one pairs of nerves branch off the spinal cord, forming a network that covers the entire body.
This nervous system constantly relays information between the brain and the rest of the body, regulating all bodily functions. Any interference with these nerves can disrupt normal function. The brain and spinal cord are protected by bone—the skull and spinal column—which consists of 24 vertebrae with discs between them.
When these vertebrae are misaligned, they can irritate the nerves that exit the spinal column, leading to a variety of health issues. Dr. Eric and Dr. Ann focus on this critical area of the nervous system to restore function and relieve interference, often where other treatments may not be as effective.
